17 Mai 2011 ‘Norway’s National Day’

I took this picture whilst watching the local 17 May parade last year, in a small town in Norway called Moss. It captured the celebration of the day and how the whole day includes everyone. Along the parade route I saw many nationalities of children involved in the parade. This image has also been featured on http://yourshot.nationalgeographic.com/daily-dozen/2011-05-31/ – My first published photograph. πŸ™‚

Today is the day when Norwegians celebrate the day in 1814 when they got their own constitution.

I even got given a flag!

  1. How could I not like this post? πŸ˜‰ Great shot from the parade, and you look as happy as one should be on Γ₯ day like this. πŸ™‚

    1. It was a wonderful day and such a privilege to experience a day like that. The music was pretty cool too. Local school children play in bands and march with the parade! πŸ˜€
