The arches at Fountains Abbey

Yesterday I visited one of my favourite places, Fountains Abbey in North Yorkshire. It is managed by a conservation charity called the National Trust. It is so beautiful and peaceful. I wandered round with my mum and beautiful friend Laura. We had a great time. I was pretty pleased with this shot of the arches.

  1. I live in Canada now, but every time I go back to visit the wrinklies I stop off at Fountains (and Betty’s in Harrogate). Lovely shot… you must have waited a long time to avoid the other pesky visitors that always muck up the photo! πŸ™‚

    1. Thanks. I waited a little while. We looked round this part of the place last so most people had already headed off home. I’d love to visit Canada some day!

      1. It’s a big place!
I live in a town called White Rock, S.E. of Vancouver. It’s about 2km from the US border… which is the only downside! πŸ™‚
A nephew visited from Silsden a few years ago, and my sister called to tell him “be sure to visit Niagara Falls”. I had to point out to him it was closer to Yorkshire than it was to White Rock.
        Canada’s a biiiiiig place!

      2. I have distant relatives in Vancouver. So I’ve even more of a reason to visit! πŸ™‚ And Silsden is really near to where I live! The Yorkshire Dales are very pretty too.
