First scribbles of the year..

Haven’t written much on here lately. Here are some late evening scribbles.. It’s currently untitled..

Sometimes struggles shout louder than they shouldForgetting how far you’ve come

Times of feeling stuck.
But oh daughter of mine you’ve yet

to see the places you’ll go.

For in the struggle you are stronger

than you realise
Don’t loose heart

Remember whose you are!

Where you are now is not the end of the

Story
There are more pages to be woven

into this beautiful tapestry

His love for you runs deep.
Even if at times it feels distant

He’s got your back

Right alongside you.

Every tear that falls down your face

When you feel moments of despair

When things seem so uncertain
Know that it’s who you are that

matters most

Keep that bright spark of encouragement

Don’t loose sight of that
Lift your head up and smile

For you are beloved of the King

and He delights in you.

Whispers

Sometimes encouragement doesn’t need to shout to be heard

It can begin with a small whisper
You are: brave

Courageous

Kind

Loving

Adventurous
Knowing that it’s okay to wear your heart on your sleeve..
To live life with open hands

To give and receive

To know that when life is hard

You are not alone

There are many cheering you on

That have your back..
When you often think of others before yourself

Know that there will be days when you will need other people to be that for you.
When really we don’t have everything together all the time.

Sometimes life is tough..
And it’s okay to take one day at a time..
There are brighter days ahead..
And others need your smile, laughter and hope in their lives..as much as you do too.

Confidence (a poem)

Confidence
Doesn’t always mean being bold

But that quiet voice

Saying ‘you are enough’

‘What you are doing is enough’
To be comfortable in knowing who you are and whose you are.
When people tell you otherwise..

You are enough

You are more than people’s opinions of you

Than criticism

Hurt

Or shame..
No these things need no longer define you..
But rather spur you on one small step at a time..

And if things don’t go as you’d hoped ..

Well tomorrow is a new day

to be filled with wonder, happiness and joy.
Tears too for there will be days when they will flow
And more new yet untrod steps to be taken

As we walk this amazing path that is life..

Adventure, travel but, most of all others.

I came across this quote a couple of days ago from Jamie Tworkowski who is the founder of To Write Love On Her Arms (TWLOHA) who raise awareness of suicide and self harm issues amongst young people and to help those in need. You can check out their website here. I love the passion this organisation has to see lives changed and people free from things that are holding them captive.

We all need people to spur us along our journey.

Remember.. You are important, valued and loved.

Third year musings

Wow!  I can’t quite believe I’ve had this blog for three whole years now.. Its gone so fast. It started off as a place for me to write my poetry and has grown into a blog both about writing and photography. Its a privilege to be able to write poems which encourage others. To add a bit of sparkle to someone’s day.

It was a good challenge from my now brother-in-law Josh. I’m so glad I took up the challenge. Check out his website here. http://joshfox.org.uk/

I love travelling to new places for the experiences they bring and the sense of adventure. It is also good to go back to familiar places because often I see them differently after being away for a while.

I am constantly inspired by those around me who show such passion for life and adventure. Also by the nature that surrounds me. Even some little flowers clinging to life on an old stone wall.

Beauty speaks to me in so many ways, showing the majesty of God. I stand in awe at ever sunset I have the privilege of seeing.  It helps me keep a fresh perspective on life.. to hold life with open hands and the importance of giving to others. With a smile, a kind word, a poem and through my photography.

Remember a little encouragement can go a long way!

Thanks for joining me on the journey.
