Moments of JOY

When you’ve had so many days of joy

Kisses from heaven

Hugs from those you love most

Surprises

Woken up to sunlight streaming

through your window

The hint of autumn in the air

Cuddles with my littlest friend

More moments of joy

Hangs with precious friends.

Train rides, music and sunsets

City skies

Castles

and bagpipes

Cobbled streets

Quaint little alleyways.

Happiness bucketfuls of it

So much

To be grateful for.

Because life is for

Grasping with both hands

One day at a time

Taking your sparkle

Everywhere

You go.

Autumn Fires

Riding home
through puddles

Mornings with
a crispness in the air
Smelling like autumn
already

Leaves leaving patterns
like little tree paths
on the ground
Old houses
Greet me with a
welcoming smile

All the cracks
like hidden pathways
Transport me to
times gone by

The smell of wood fires
takes me back
To childhood evenings
Roasting chestnuts
in the embers

Watching Dad raking
fallen leaves
All the rustling
reminds me of
Hedgehogs

And autumn walks in the woods
Watching squirrels chase
Each other from branch
to branch

Oh the delights of autumn
When the trees put on
their best show

The best symphony
of many colours
ochre reds, auburn
golden sunbeams

Whispers

Sometimes encouragement doesn’t need to shout to be heard

It can begin with a small whisper
You are: brave

Courageous

Kind

Loving

Adventurous
Knowing that it’s okay to wear your heart on your sleeve..
To live life with open hands

To give and receive

To know that when life is hard

You are not alone

There are many cheering you on

That have your back..
When you often think of others before yourself

Know that there will be days when you will need other people to be that for you.
When really we don’t have everything together all the time.

Sometimes life is tough..
And it’s okay to take one day at a time..
There are brighter days ahead..
And others need your smile, laughter and hope in their lives..as much as you do too.

Confidence (a poem)

Confidence
Doesn’t always mean being bold

But that quiet voice

Saying ‘you are enough’

‘What you are doing is enough’
To be comfortable in knowing who you are and whose you are.
When people tell you otherwise..

You are enough

You are more than people’s opinions of you

Than criticism

Hurt

Or shame..
No these things need no longer define you..
But rather spur you on one small step at a time..

And if things don’t go as you’d hoped ..

Well tomorrow is a new day

to be filled with wonder, happiness and joy.
Tears too for there will be days when they will flow
And more new yet untrod steps to be taken

As we walk this amazing path that is life..

[honey]

Honey : One small little puppy
Who is not so small anymore
It was beautiful to see how

Even an animal so young took pleasure in the small things

I loved it when she would jump up for belly rub.

And be so content.

and lick my feet..

She went to her new home this week.

Just because…

Just because
There does not always need to be a reason

Acts of kindness speak louder than words
In these ways we show our hearts to others

Smile

There is something beautiful in spontaneous showers of grace bestowed from one to another

Heartfelt

Just because…

Scatterings of hope

It’s ok to have unanswered questions.

Feeling unsure..

But finding beauty in the unknown.
Even in that there is something to learn.

Becoming comfortable in who you are.
Only when alone do we begin to appreciate the notion of self.

That in each of us: is something beautiful we give to the world around us.
Scatterings of hope in what can sometimes be seen as a desolate place.

Small shoots of green amongst a barren landscape.

A bright light in the dark.

That grows into something so majestically wonderful.

Wonder..

A little flicker of hope is all you need
to keep moving forward.
Knowing that you are valued.

You matter very much
Bringing a sparkle to those around you

Whispering thoughts of happiness..
a smile can go a long way

Pleasure in the smallest of things.

A childlike wonder when looking
up at the night sky.

Feeling so small and yet so amazed.
